Gel Nails – amateur do it at home!

I have always loved the look of artificial nails since I was 15! I used to buy those acrylic nails packages that come with the glue that smells so bad, and used to glue on these nails every week or so. Of course, as I got older, I realized how bad these are for your nails and it literally made my natural nail bedding bumpy and turned them into odd looking nails.

Now I noticed a new trend where you can just stick on artificial nails and have it be ready to go in minutes! They are made by a company called, Impress Manicure, and I have tried these out and it was a nice and simple way to get instant manicures without the mess of glue. However, I didn’t like the length of the nails and my nails are different sizes, so they would either be too small or too large, and it wasn’t something I liked to see since I am a perfectionist!

Recently I have been looking at gel nails art and the beauty of it done by salons, but I just don’t want to be spending money on maintaining my nails and getting them filled in every couple of weeks. So I decided to do my own gel nails at home.

I bought a cheap portable UV light, along with some cheap gel building products and viola! It did take me a long time to build the nails but it was worth it in the end to be able to paint them into the marble effect above.

What do you guys think of my first attempt at building gel nails at home? Now I have been filling my own nails every two weeks and I can walk around having beautiful nails without spending so much money.
