My review of Pleasant Goat – you know a Chinese restaurant is decent when the name of the restaurant doesn’t make much sense to foreigners. The hot pot here was a good experience for me as the hot pot base soup flavours that they offered were much more to my liking.
The hot pot soup base was extra spicy, just the way I love it. I love adding the items that you can order on the side, and I am more of a fan for the vegetables for my hot pot. The vegetables were definitely fresh, and each order was a good handful in terms of portion sizes. I love the quail eggs, I love these eggs as they are small but so delicious. The squid and tiger prawns were not bad, but you have to keep an eye on these when you are cooking them in your hot pot or they will get overcooked if you forget about it.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 3.5/5
I ordered the super spicy hot pot base soup for 38DHS, needle mushrooms for 10DHS, fungus mushroom for 15DHS, water spinach for 10DHS, fresh beancurd for 10DHS, quail eggs for 16DHS, squid for 28DHS, and tiger prawns for 42DHS.
The pricing here is not bad, but the combo would have probably been cheaper.
The service was average, the servers only attend to your table when you take the effort to wave them down. It is a place where you cook your own items, so that is probably the reason why.
Finally, the ambience of this restaurant is simple. There is not much decor to liven up the place, and the furniture is outdated.
