My review of Espana – An over the top restaurant and bar with unique artwork all around serving Spanish cuisine. Not only does this place have a beautiful ambience, but the food and drinks here are to die for with both presentation and taste!
I really enjoyed the crispy amazonica, it went along so well with my red wine. I love to accompany my alcoholic drinks with either snacks or a whole meal. It was much better than just having regular potato chips, as the chef used beetroot, parsley, carrot, onion, and parsnips. The chips were crisp and appetizing.
My favourite of the night was the pollo loco as it was absolutely so creamy and delicious. The smoked chicken went along so well with the mushrooms, green onions, and the mayonnaise. I loved the added croutons, giving it that extra breaded texture to the mix.
The pollito moruno was the largest chicken skewers I had in my life. Usually, you would see the meat covering only half of the skewer stick, but this restaurant has made the chicken cover the whole stick! The chicken was succulent and the sauce was from Las Palmas, which added that homemade Spanish taste to the chicken. The presentation of this dish was beautiful as the garnish was made to look like a ribbon bow.
Finally, the last dish that I need to mention is the mejilones a la marinera. The mussels were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was absolutely divine, you can really taste the hint of garlic.
This restaurant and bar deserves a rating of 5/5.
I ordered the crispy amazonica for 25DHS, Pollo loco for 35DHS, pollito moruno for 45DHS, empanadas de pisto for 39DHS, fried mozzarella for 50DHS, chorizo spaghetti for 70DHS, mejilones a la marinera for 65DHS, plum with a twist for 25DHS.
The pricing here is absolutely reasonable.
The service was excellent here! All of the staff members were around, interacting with the customers and helping each other out. The hostess was friendly and gave a good first impression of the restaurant. I loved how the owner was around greeting customers and making sure everyone was having a good time. The staff members looked like they love their job and are very well trained!
Finally, the ambience of the restaurant and bar is so beautiful. The whole place is filled with unique decor. There is modern and sophisticated artwork all around.
I love the private rooms they offer, and in one of the private rooms, the theme is upside down – meaning the stars are on the floors, and the grass and benches are on the ceiling. It is a great secluded room for meetings or birthdays. There is a glass room, with a bar and it is perfect for ladies to enjoy their night out with their own bartender! Another room that was intriguing to me is a large room that has beautiful artwork, and it is just perfect for a bachelorette party or a birthday party.
The restaurant has a TV wall with many TVs joined together to display one image. The images ranges from live videos of beaches and landmarks from around the world, and sunsets and sunrises.
When you thought there is no more to the restaurant, there is a terrace in the back with many tables and chairs for those who likes to dine outside.
Finally, I have to talk about the furniture. The furniture is so unique here, and designed to match the artsy theme of the restaurant. The tables each have a coat or purse rack underneath so you can hang your items while enjoying your drinks and food. The chairs have beautiful eyes on them and the legs have heels and feet. I love the thrones they have with backdrops to take pictures at for your social media accounts.
