My review of The Hutch – A modern and sophisticated restaurant that serves all day breakfast, fresh beverages, heavenly entrees, and amazing homemade dessert. This restaurant has everything you are looking for to enjoy your day on this side of town.
The grilled baby octopus was a wonderful starter, the octopus was a decent size and the cook on the octopus was perfect. I love the marinade on it and having fresh salad over it added a nice touch to it.
I would have to say the pan seared foie gras was beautiful. I am not usually a fan of this dish, but I had to get it here to try it once more to see if my mind changed. It definitely did, the foie gras was moist and the texture was wonderful. I loved the caramelized pears with this fish, it gave it that extra acidity that the foie gras needed.
My favourite dish was the eggs royal, I had the eggs cooked soft, and the eggs were poached perfectly. Poking the outer part of the egg made the yolk drizzle out nicely over the smoked salmon and the English muffin. Smoked salmon and eggs are now one of my favourite food pairings.
The chicken and lobster pie was so appealing! The presentation of this dish was outstanding. I was expecting a regular pie with chicken and lobster filling, but this restaurant has excelled in the presentation, not only was it appealing, but the flavours were on point! The chicken and lobster were actually a good pair, and it was so creamy and rich and the meat did not overpower one another, it was a perfect ratio.
Finally, I have to talk about the dessert that I had. The African orange cake is homemade here, and a best seller. The cake was moist, and it reminded me so much of the traditional carrot cake, but this cake had more of the citrus flavour which was absolutely divine.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 5/5.
I ordered the frozen margarita for 25DHS, tropical passion for 26DHS, pear & raspberry organic juice for 19DHS, eggplant parmegiana for 35DHS, spicy prawns for 55DHS, grilled baby octopus for 55DHS, pan seared foie gras for 125DHS, eggs royal for 55DHS, grilled baby chicken in lemon marination for 80DHS, chicken and lobster pie for 85DHS, classic Arabic shakshuka for 40DHS, african orange cake for 15DHS.
The pricing is very well priced.
The service was outstanding as the hostess and server greeted us with warm smiles and gave us a tour of the beautiful restaurant. The food came out in a good amount of time.
Finally, the ambience of this beautiful restaurant is located in The Mall. The restaurant is modern, and the exterior looks sophisticated. Once you enter, there are hints of green colours around from the plants hanging from the ceiling, and the walls. The terrace is a nice area for the winter time, and the lounge outside the restaurant is a great place to enjoy some beverages and enjoy the view of the Burj Al Arab.
