My review of China Garden – this restaurant is great for those who enjoy cheap “Western Chinese” food. For someone like me, I used to enjoy this type of cuisine, but once I have travelled to China and experienced authentic Chinese food, I definitely cannot enjoy myself at these places.
The mixed seafood sizzler was basically a bunch of shrimp, squid rings, and fish grilled on a sizzling plate. I did not really enjoy this as I found that it is a small portion of each seafood item and it was not marinated too well. It was more oily than I would like it to be.
The half peking duck was actually not bad. I felt that the duck was barbecued nicely, and it was still juicy and not dry like a lot of places I had it at. It was a good portion, and the vegetables that came along with it was fresh.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 3/5.
I ordered the mixed seafood sizzlers for 48DHS, and the half peking duck for 65DHS.
The pricing is inexpensive.
The service was slow, and the food took some time to come out.
Finally, the ambience of the restaurant has the Chinese appearance to it, especially with all the red colours. The furniture is simple here and the decor matches the Chinese theme they are going for.
