My review of Le Fleur – a newly established dhow boat in the marina that offers excellent food catered by the Address hotel. This is a great way to have dinner while cruising along the marina with beautiful views all around. Whether you’re a vegetarian or not, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The buffet had quite a few of different items to choose from. There was soup, a salad station, hot foods, pasta, and dessert.
The salad station looked fresh and there were some tasty items that I really liked. I loved the beetroot salad and the potato salad as both of these have the perfect amount of dressing and seasoning. The potato salad was creamy and the potatoes were nice and soft.
Moving onto the hot foods part of the buffet, my favourite was the Thai chicken curry, as this was something that I did not expect and it stood out compared to the other items. The chicken was perfect and the curry had the Thai flavours for sure.
The pasta was located on the top level of the boat, where the chef prepares your pasta on the spot. You can choose your own sauce, type of pasta, cheese, and vegetable toppings. I feel that there should be an option to add meat and other types of vegetables like mushrooms as there was only onions and green onions as choices.
There was a small selection of dessert, and I wished there was more cake options, as the cupcakes had no frosting and it was a little disappointing. The umm Ali was eggless and I found it tasted way better without eggs, it brought out the flavours much more.
This floating restaurant deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the buffet for one adult.
The pricing of the food served here is excellent especially when you are on a boat with live entertainment.
The service was outstanding from the moment you’re on the dock, there was a staff member handing out cool towels with a welcoming smile. The servers were always around serving beverages and assisting with our needs.
Finally, the ambience of this restaurant is not your typical restaurant as it is on a boat. The boat or dhow is decorated beautifully with lights, and is definitely eye catching along the marina. There is seating on two levels – indoor with air conditioning, and an upstairs area where you can enjoy your food under the skies with a clearer view of the marina. Live Arabian entertainment happens on the boat with the tanoura dances and a led baton spinner.
