My review of The Iftar Preview Buffet – the Iftar experience buffet will take place in the lobby lounge area of the hotel. My first words that came out of my mouth when I saw the buffet was, “whoa!” The buffet selection was massive, with a large salad selection, many buffet chafers full of middle eastern dishes, live Egyptian cooking stations, and a large table full of amazing looking desserts.
I am going to start off with my favourite dishes from the salad station. I loved the cauliflower puree with smoked salmon. It was presented in a little cup, and the puree was smooth and rich. The smoked salmon was great and had a good cook to it. Some of the other cold dishes that I liked were the tomato gazpacho, mixed seafood terrine, chicken terrine, and the tuna nicosia salad.
The hot main dishes that I enjoyed were the Arabic mixed grill, mini tortilla pizzas, crab stuffed salmon, creamy macaroni and cheese casserole, quinoa chicken parmesan, hash brown and sausage casserole, and the eggplant moussaka with seafood. I want to get into more detail for the crab stuffed salmon. This dish really stood out compared to the others, and I loved it so much. The crab stuffed salmon was such a unique combination, the crab actually went so well with the salmon. The salmon was cooked beautifully and the stuffed crab was delicious. Biting into the two together was a match made in heaven.
Finally, I moved onto the huge dessert selection which I thought everything on the table was amazing. There was a mix between Arabic and Western sweets, which was wonderful. The ones that I enjoyed the most were the carrot halwa, fresh fruit gateaux, cheese cake, carrot mousse cake, raspberry cream cheese tart, mango pana cotta, oreo mousse, and the green tea cake. Each of these cakes were moist, and had all of the flavours that made them wonderfully sweet.
This Iftar buffet experience deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the Iftar Experience Buffet for 139DHS.
The pricing of the buffet here is such a great deal, especially with the huge buffet selection.
The service that I received here was a little slow, as the servers were walking around but not paying attention to the tables. I had to gesture often to the servers to grab their attention to clear my finished plates.
The ambience of this Iftar experience was a beautiful setup with the tent and it is located in the lobby lounge of the Jood Palace hotel. You can see the luxurious buffet from afar, and the tables are set up nicely to match the standards of the hotel.
