My review of 24 Karat – this restaurant fits into the Dubai stereotype well as most outsiders see this city as luxurious and filled with gold. With beautiful presentations of the food served here, the chefs top it off with unique flavoured gold flakes.
24 Karat is now in the process of revamping their concept to something that offers more to the unique crowds of Dubai. Coming soon, this restaurant will have a lounge that will serve liquor with live music, along with shisha offered on the patio as well. Stay tuned for more details from me as soon as the restaurant is ready to launch this.
Now moving onto the good stuff – the food! I was very impressed with the presentation of the dishes here as the gold flakes were a beautiful touch giving that glimmer and shine to each of the dishes.
The burrata 24K was beautiful to look at and I thought that the texture of the burrata was perfect. The truffle oil on top was a nice touch adding to the great flavour of the burrata itself.
The scallops with saffron was interesting, even though I thought that the presentation could have been a bit cleaner. The scallops were seared well, and seasoned nicely.
I loved the squid ink pasta that was served with clams, calamari, and bottarga. I also had the seabass served together with this dish, and I was definitely happy with the flavours in both. The seabass was served inside wax paper to preserve all of the juices, making the seabass moist and full of delicious flavours.
Finally, it was hard for me to eat the dessert because it was too pretty to eat. I thought that the presentation of the lieto 24k was outstanding. The pistachio flavours in the cheesecake were strong and it had the perfect amount of sweet taste to it.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the burrata 24k, scallops with saffron, black spaghetti with clams, calamari, and bottarga, seabass, 24K pizza, saffron semifredo, and the lieto 24k dessert.
The pricing of the dishes here are great and you have the option to have the dishes served without the gold flakes for 45DHS cheaper than the gold dishes.
The service was fantastic and all of the staff members were so friendly that I felt welcomed the whole time I was enjoying my dinner.
The ambience was sleek with a beautiful staircase heading up to the entrance of the restaurant. The restaurant is huge with windows that showcase a beautiful Dubai skyline. There are three private rooms for hosting group events and I loved the idea of the patio where shisha will be happening very soon.
