My review of Pure Sky Lounge – Located on the 35th floor, this lounge offers beautiful views of the marina along with a view of the beautiful sunset while you enjoy some food and beverages.
The 6 dish experience had yellowfin tuna ceviche, pan seared shrimps, Indonesian chicken satay, pan seared barramundi fish, and the grilled beef tenderloin. The 6th dish for us was the dessert tart.
I could only eat the seafood items from the set menu and I found all to be absolutely tasty. The presentation of each dish was very appealing and my camera was super happy!
The yellowfin tuna ceviche was so good and I loved the pomelo and shrimp crackers as it made this dish more Asian. I missed the pomelo flavours since the last time I visited Asia, so it was great to see it a couple of times.
I was quite delighted with the pan seared shrimps as it was seared perfectly. I loved how the pomelo was elevated by adding a marinade to it. The mango dressing gave the prawns more of a tangy flavour which was absolutely delicious.
I enjoyed my fried vermicelli quite a bit and this was a dish I ordered on top of the set menu. I was disappointed to see only one king crab leg split into two though. I was expecting more crab meat but I got a plate full of noodles instead.
The sharing lemon meringue tart dessert was interesting as the chef prepared this on your table. On top of a sheet, the chef spreaded macarons, lemon curd, baked crumble, with two sauces – strawberry and chocolate, vanilla custard, and fresh strawberry fruits.
Finally, my favourite cocktail of the night would have been the marshmallow martini as I do love the flavours in a marshmallow. The martini was sweet and was so creamy. I absolutely loved every part of it.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the 6 dish experience for 165DHS, stir fried vermicelli with king crab for 60DHS, and the sharing lemon meringue tart for 100DHS.
For drinks I had the marshmallow martini for 65DHS, dragons heart for 65DHS, far east for 65DHS, and the hidden temple for 75DHS.
The pricing of the dishes served here are very affordable for higher end food.
The service was remarkable with our server paying attention to us the whole time to make sure we are enjoying ourselves. The food came quickly and drinks were the same.
The ambience of this restaurant was absolutely stunning with bright colours giving off the ‘oceanside’ feel to it. The terrace is huge with views of the JBR walk and the marina. It was definitely a unique experience with the restaurant being on the 35th floor so you can view the sunset without any obstacles in the way.
