My review of La Mome – this beautiful restaurant has turned 1 year old today and I had the chance to visit to try the authentic French cuisine that is offered here.
The tuna carpaccio was absolutely delicious but the salad on top overpowered the presentation of the beautiful carpaccio. The tuna was perfect, and the light marinade on it was tasty.
The escargot, or snails were also messy looking with the garlic sauce being all over the place. The snails were delicious though and it tasted like mushrooms which was great.
The lobster that I had was grilled beautifully with a light butter sauce on top. The portion of the lobster was large and my favourite part was the claw as usual.
Finally, the desserts that I had were simple and was not original in any way as they weren’t elevated in any way. The strawberry tart was just a tart with strawberry fruits on top and the creme brulee was nothing special.
There was a large cake for the restaurant’s birthday and I got to try parts of it and I actually liked it a lot more than the desserts on the menu.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the tuna carpaccio, escargot, lobster, strawberry tart, and the creme brulee.
The service that I received here was really good at the start of the dinner, but as the restaurant started to pick up and get busy, it was hard to find our server. Our finished plates were sitting on our table for quite some time and empty glasses were never cleared.
The ambience of this restaurant was very elegant and being on the 49th floor of the Nassima Royal Hotel, the tables by the window would be the best as the views of the Sheikh Zayed road is beautiful. The live entertainment was outstanding with the performers coming to your table and accepted song requests and performed it right at your table.
