My review for Table 9 – Founded by Nick & Scott, who were trained by the famous Gordon Ramsay, this restaurant lived up to the high expectations that I had.
The burrata salad was unique in presentation and I have never seen a burrata dish like this as the burrata was not the star since it was a small amount. Instead, there was a large portion of quinoa which caught my eye first. Despite this, the burrata was light and delicious.
I was very impressed with the flavours on the slow cooked octopus. The octopus was cooked perfectly and when I finished it all, I wished I had some more as it was so good.
The three cheese ravioli was the only dish that disappointed me as the pasta was too thick from what I usually have elsewhere. The ravioli would have been better if it was rolled more to make it slightly thinner. The filling and the three cheeses were tasty nonetheless.
The seafood bomba rice was beautiful for the presentation and I loved seeing the large prawns on top of the rice. I had to dig through the rice to find the scallops, which was something that I did not like to do because the scallops should have been visibly shown on the plate, otherwise, for other guests, it would just look like a prawn dish.
The seabass fillet was not presented too well on the plate but it was delicious. I enjoyed the onions in between the fillet, bringing out more flavour from the seabass.
The chef’s dessert platter was a taster of all the desserts offered on the menu. My favourites were the white chocolate parfait, poached apple, and the tiramisu and macarons. Each of the desserts were so beautiful and perfectly sweet. The tiramisu and macarons was basically a chocolate bomb with hot chocolate sauce poured on top to break it apart exposing the delicious coffee mousse, macarons, and berries.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the burrata salad for 50DHS, slow cooked octopus for 50DHS, three cheese ravioli with sage for 60DHS, seafood bomba rice for 120DHS, sea bass fillet for 125DHS, and the chef’s dessert platter.
The pricing of the dishes here were normal for the type of cuisine that is offered here.
The service that I received here was perfect, where the servers, manager, bartender, and head chef coming by our table to make sure that everything was going well for us.
The ambience of this restaurant was very chic and modern and I absolutely loved the decor. The mirror decor all around made the restaurant look bigger than it actually was. Along with this, it was a causal fine dining setting so dressing up was not necessary which was a huge delight for me as I get lazy at times.
