My review for Camuti – this is an Italian restaurant that is named after the chef who personally prepares your dishes for you. I can tell that he was very passionate and is dedicated in presenting authentic Italian cuisine.
The smoked salmon with ricotta and arugula was amazing! Smoked salmon is my favourite dish anywhere that serves it, and this restaurant did not disappoint me. The smoked salmon was seasoned perfectly and smoked at the perfect temperature.
The king prawn penne was good but the portion size was a bit small and there were only two pieces of prawns. I believe most restaurants that serve this dish for the same price has at least four pieces of prawns, so I found that the price of this dish would be too high for just two.
The two pizzas that I had were cheesy and delicious. I loved how thin the dough was and the toppings on each pizza were perfect.
Some of the smoked salmon in the sandwich was a bit over smoked but it was not too bad. The sandwich had purple onions and arugula so it was a nice combination of ingredients. This dish comes with a side of potato wedges which were tasty.
Finally, the chef’s dessert platter was prepared specifically for us because we wanted to try all three. The platter had tiramisu, a piece of cannoli, and a chocolate and pear cake with vanilla ice cream. My favourite on the platter was the tiramisu and I would have to admit that it was one of the best tiramisu that I have had.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 3.5/5.
I ordered the rosa di salmone affumicato e ricotta for 55DHS, penne salsa verde e gamberi for 80DHS, margherita pizza for 40DHS, funghi pizza for 55DHS, smoked salmon sandwich for 55DHS, and the chef’s dessert platter.
The pricing of the dishes here were reasonable and great for authentic Italian dishes.
The service that I received here was very slow which was disappointing because the restaurant was not busy and there were two servers working. It took quite some time to place our order with them because they did not really pay attention to us and we had to hunt them down ourselves.
When the dishes arrived to our table, the server did not name any of it, so we had to guess what was what. Our water glasses were never refilled and we always had to get the server’s attention ourselves when we needed something.
Chef Camuti, however, was a delight and it was great to see the master behind the delicious dishes. I could really tell that he wanted us to enjoy ourselves and he was very determined to improve any dishes that we gave our feedback on.
The ambience of this restaurant was modern and there were large windows with the view of the beautiful Burj Khalifa. Outdoor seating is also available with the same view and some natural trees around.
