My review for Mint Leaf of London – Chef Pradeep has once again impressed my taste buds with his unique and beautiful signature dishes.
The wasabi pani poori was amazing. This dish was served with dry ice so it was pretty to look at. The flavours of the wasabi was wonderful and complimented the pomegranate as well. I loved this version of the pani poori more than the regular ones that I’ve had.
The next dish that I had was the nimbu tuna ceviche which was so good! The okra chips on top was a delight because I loved the flavours and the crunchy texture to balance the soft tuna.
The crab cake, lemon prawn, and fish & chips were delicious. Each of the individual seafood was made perfectly and each one was unique and beautiful. The crab cake had so much crab meat and less batter on the outside, which was lovely. The lemon prawn was delicious and the marinade on it was tasty. The marinade on the prawn was lemon pickle and crushed garlic. The fish and chips were nothing compared to the well known fish and chips that are served at most restaurants. Chef Pradeep used crushed lentil chips and the cod was covered in crumbled panko.
Onto the main course now where I am going to mention the black cod, which is one of my favourites. The black cod was served on top of quinoa and parsley based curry. The curry was light and delicious which was wonderful for me because I do not like curries in general.
Finally, I had just enough room to try the three desserts that came to the table. My favourite dessert dish that I want to mention was the pb&c which was a nougat bar and it was made with peanut butter and chocolate. Everything about this dessert was just heaven in my mouth, I was very impressed with the chocolate coat on the bar, and the peanut butter on the inside was just sweet and divine.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 5/5.
I ordered the chef’s special tasting which consisted of wasabi poori, nimbu tuna ceviche, crab cake, lemon prawn, fish & chips amritsari, seared black cod, dal makhani, black quinoa & pomegranate raita, prawns biryani, the lotus mess, pb&c nougat bar, and the banana & coconut pudding.
The service was outstanding where our server was very attentive. After each dish, he would carefully remove the finished plates as quickly as possible and wipe down the table each and every time.
Chef Pradeep was a wonderful host where we can really see the passion he had for each one of his dishes that came to the table. I met him once before at the previous restaurant he used to work at, and I am so glad I got to experience his new creations as I was a huge fan of his previous dishes.
The ambience of the restaurant was extremely lovely and I was just in awe by the large windows with a 180 degree view of the DIFC area. This restaurant has a dining section, lounge, bar, and a small terrace section so this place fits the needs of anyone for any occasion.
