My review for Social House – this restaurant has such an interesting concept as it serves the popular international dishes from the east and west sides. Whether you’re feeling hungry for an Asian dish, or have a little craving for something Western, this is the place to be able to get both.
The sushi rolls here were appealing as you can see some being showcased at the sushi bar. I decided to go with the dragon roll as I know what this roll should taste like. The ebi in the roll tasted fresh and the avocado was great with it. The roll was delicious and I was happy with the construction of it.
The greek salad was huge! I was not expecting the portion size of the salad to be made for basically 2 people. This was a good thing though because the salad was tasty and all of the vegetables were a perfect match, so I was happy to have had a lot of it to eat.
The chili and garlic prawns were so delicious. There was only six prawns in this dish and it came with 2 large slices of garlic bread. I thought the sauce went well with the bread and the shrimp was the star for sure.
I had high expectations for the Norwegian cod fillet. I came into this restaurant expecting the fish to be close to the ones I enjoy at my favourite restaurants. Did it match what I had there? It most certainly did, with the fillet being juicy and the sauce on top went well with it.
Finally, to end the dinner nicely, I got a couple of dessert dishes from the newly launched dessert menu. The presentation of the menu itself was gorgeous and the actual dessert dishes were even more appealing. I loved the bread and butter pudding the most as everything was put together nicely. The bread had the right amount of butter on it and the sauce was sweet enough for my sweet tooth!
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the dragon roll for 62DHS, greek salad for 55DHS, chilli and garlic prawns for 56DHS, bread and butter pudding for 45DHS, and the sticky rice pudding for 45DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here were great for the large portion sizes.
The service was wonderful as our first server, Vincent, made sure we were having an excellent experience throughout the whole dinner. Our plates and cutlery were changed after every dish, and the food and beverages came to the table in a good amount of time.
However, towards the end of our dinner, we received a different server who was forgetful and we had to keep chasing her down to get the rest of dessert dishes to the table.
The ambience of the restaurant was impressive as Social House is the largest restaurant in the Dubai Mall. With indoor and outdoor seating available, the best seats in the house would be at the windows with the Dubai Fountains views. The decor was very colourful and vibrant all over the restaurant. I loved the display of fruits in the large baskets as it made me feel like I was at a fresh market.
