My review for Yumtingz – Discovered this place at the Etisalat Beach Canteen during the Dubai Food Fest, and this food truck had some interesting food choices.
I love the traditional Vietnamese banh mi as it is close to my heart since my parents are from South East Asia. The banh mi served here is not authentic, of course, but it was not too bad.
I got the tofu banh mi and the presentation of it was okay to look at. The cucumbers hanging out of the bun was a bit annoying as it kept falling out. It would have been better if it was cut into a long thin slice instead like how the cucumbers in the real banh mi sandwiches are like. The tofu was nice and firm but could have used more marinating on it as mine were a little plain.
This food truck deserves a rating of 3.5/5.
I ordered the tofu banh mi for 30DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here was on average of what you would expect from a food truck.
The service was good where the server was able to greet us warmly when we approached the truck. He was able to recommend popular dishes and was patient with us. The food was ready in about 10 minutes which was a little slow for the food truck world.
The ambience of the food truck was eye catching where the outside was black in colour and the bright light from the inside made it easy to see. The interior of truck looked organized and clean.
