My review for Smiling BKK – This Thai restaurant is definitely a lovely hidden gem. All of the flavours here blew me away. This restaurant serves authentic Thai food so it was nice to get the same flavours as when I was visiting Thailand. My favourite dish was the pad Thai, and it is honestly the best pad Thai I had in a while, in fact, it was so good that I got a second order of it as takeaway!
I chose to go with the seafood pad Thai which had just the right amount of seafood mixed in with the noodles. I loved how the peanuts were on the side so I could add whatever amount I like for that extra crunch. The flavours were all there and every part of the dish was cooked evenly.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
I ordered the pad thai for 39DHS, and the Abba (sticky rice in coconut milk with mango slices) for 35DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here was reasonable for a Thai restaurant.
The service that I received here was wonderful with friendly servers.
The food took a little time to come to the table, even when the restaurant was not busy at all, however, with the quality of the food, it was well worth the wait.
The ambience of the restaurant was urban and unique. I loved the dark atmosphere with the cool graffiti artwork around the place. With this, it just made it feel like we were eating in a secluded area which made us focus solely on the food.
