My review for 800 Pizza – do not let the name of the restaurant fool you into thinking this place only serves pizza. There is a large menu that serves a variety of Italian dishes. I love how there are vegetarian and gluten free options here as that is almost rare at Italian places.
The olive ascolane is a dish where olives are fried in batter with spinach, courgette, and carrots. This was an interesting dish as I never had fried olives and I love fresh olives so I had to see what this is like. It was tasty, and the batter was not oily, with the fillings giving more flavour to the already salty olives.
My cremosa pasta with pink sauce was delicious. The sauce and pasta ratio was perfect, as I dislike pasta overly drenched in sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly, which was nice and soft. The sauce was flavourful with a nice hint of garlic and parsley.
My favourite dish of the night was the cannelloni. There was a lot of ricotta cheese stuffed into the pasta which was perfect as some places would lack the cheese and it would not be as tasty for me. The spinach was perfect with the ricotta and this dish as a whole was cheesy and wonderful.
Finally, my dessert finished off the dinner nicely. The torta della nonna cake was moist and the custard was delicious. This dessert was not too sweet, and the thin almond slices on top gave that extra crunch it needed.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the olive ascolane for 15DHS, cremosa for 52DHS, cannelloni al forno for 53DHS, margherita pizza for 29DHS, and the torta della nonna for 19DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here was perfect.
The service was wonderful as the staff was attentive and the food came out in a good amount of time.
The ambience of the restaurant was a small place, since it was mainly a delivery restaurant. I was here to get takeaway so I only got a glimpse of the small seating area, and saw that there was outdated furniture and very little decor.
