My review for Huddle Sports Bar – this sports bar is great for after work visits where you need to unwind and enjoy some sports on the many TVs around the restaurant. While you’re enjoying a match, the food and beverages are really good to try as well.
The calamari was straightforward for the flavours and presentation and it is what you would expect to find at most sports bars. The calamari was seasoned nicely and the batter was crisp and light.
I love truffled everything, and that is why I wanted to try the truffled wedges here. I was expecting the beautiful truffle aroma to come with the wedges but that did not exist. The truffle flavours were non existent as well which was disappointing.
The panko fried prawns were great even though the prawns were a bit smaller than what I was expecting. The panko breading on the prawns was light and crispy and it was perfectly seasoned.
I enjoyed my mushroom and halloumi burger the most out of all the dishes I got. The mushrooms were grilled beautifully along with the wonderful halloumi. I always enjoy vegetarian burgers as there is something different in each one that I had.
Finally, the last dish that I tasted was the Viet fish with rosemary chips. This is just a fancy name for fish and chips as that was what came to the table. The fish was battered and deep fried and the fries were placed directly on top of the fish and parmasean was sprinkled on top.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the calamari for 45DHS, truffled wedges for 32DHS, panko fried prawns for 58DHS, mushroom & halloumi burger for 42DHS, and the Viet fish for 62DHS.
The pricing of the dishes served here was reasonable for a sports bar environment.
The service was slow going at first where we had to hunt down a server to take our orders. The beverages took quite some time to come to the table, but the food was much faster. As the night progressed, the speed of the service improved.
The ambience of this restaurant was friendly and inviting with a laid back atmosphere. With television sets in every corner plus comfortable chairs, this was definitely a nice sports bar. There was a private room where a large table that can seat about 10 people which is great for a group who wants a more quiet place to enjoy their time here. The huddle sports bar and grill is located in the City Max hotel in the Bur Dubai area.
