My review for London Fish & Chips – I enjoy a good fish and chips meal here and there but I have never been to London to try the authentic ones there. The first time that I had fish and chips was back in Canada where it is pretty well known.
I noticed this restaurant at the food court a few days back but I was full so today I decided to order it through Zomato because I wanted to try it to see how it compares to my favourite ones back home.
The combo that stood out to me was the big ben since this box had shrimp, fish, and chips. The ratio between each item was just right where I received 5 pieces of deep fried shrimp, one large piece of deep fried cod fillet, and a handful of fries.
The shrimps were a bit too oily for my liking but once I got past the oily batter, the shrimps were cooked correctly and was not bad tasting. The shrimps were a decent size as I was expecting smaller ones due to the low price, so that was a great bonus.
The fish was evenly cooked and had just the right amount of deep fried batter around it. I was pleased to see less oil on this part of the meal. The cod was seasoned perfectly and was the best part of the whole dish.
Overall, I still prefer the ones that I had back home so this place did not meet my expectations but it was good coming from a food court. I am still on the hunt for decent fish and chips here in Dubai, maybe I’ll head to a restaurant that isn’t in the mall next time.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 3/5.
I ordered the big ben for 37DHS but through Zomato there was a promotion and paid 29.60DHS instead.
The pricing of the dishes here was average for your typical fish and chips dish.
The service that I received here was easy going where the Zomato online ordering was simple to follow.
The order came to my doorstep just in time for lunch and was still hot which was excellent as I am a bit far from the mall.
